ELECTRIFY DECATUR
TAKE THE PLEDGE
In Decatur, we take the climate crisis seriously. Our City has set a goal of 100% clean energy for municipal buildings by 2030 and 100% clean energy for the residential and commercial sectors by 2035.
The only way to accomplish this is, and solve the climate and energy crisis is to stop burning fossil fuels.
That’s why we need to electrify everything as fast as possible, and remake the grid from one reliant on dirty polluting oil, methane gas and coal to one powered by renewable energy. There are two steps to accomplish this. The first is to change our energy supply. The second is to reduce our demand.
To reduce demand, we know most people can’t suddenly switch out all their gas appliances. But we can all pledge to make the change when our furnaces, AC, water heaters, and appliances reach the end of their useful lives. Help electrify Decatur and take the pledge below.
