About Decatur100

We’re leading the effort toward a just
and equitable transition to 100% clean,
renewable energy by 2030.

It takes foresight, planning and hard work but together we’re doing it. Regardless of the color of our skin, where we come from or what’s in our wallets, the benefits are the improved health of our all our citizens. A cleaner, more livable city that costs less to operate. The satisfaction of showing the world how it’s done.

Every Decatur, citizen can play a role in achieving our goals. For many, simply using less energy will move us closer. Others may take a more active approach by biking to their destination. Some will upgrade their homes or commercial buildings with insulation or solar panels. Even preserving our tree canopy will help.

What Do We Need to Do?

  1. Supply our city electricity with 100% clean renewable energy

  2. Transition our city fleets and transportation to electric vehicles

  3. Improve the energy efficiency of our schools and buildings

  4. Create policies that incentivize this transition for residential and
    commercial buildings.

It feels good to do good.

Decatur can be a strong leader for our state in moving to clean renewable energy. Our energy use contributes to the devastating effects of climate change. It exists at the intersection of equity, sustainability, economic opportunity and the livability of our city. Feel good by getting involved. Please contact us for more information.
